Welcome to the new New Fairfield Girls Softball website!
New Fairfield Girls Softball was formed in 2011 to provide a standardized league for Recreational Players and Travel Ball for advanced players in grades K-8. Seasons occur in the Spring and Fall, with clinics in the winter and summer.

Ages
Age group placement will be made using Babe Ruth Softball/USSSA birthday cutoffs (1/1 - 12/31):
- 6U: 1/1/2017 - 12/31/2018
- 8U: 1/1/2015 - 12/31/2016
- 10U: 1/1/2013 - 12/31/2014
- 12U: 1/1/2011 - 12/31/2012
- 14U: 1/1/2009 - 12/31/2010
When
Spring Recreation: April-June
Fall Recreation: September-November
Where
Memorial Field - Brush Hill Rd.
Cashman Field - Gillotti Rd.
Practices
Recreational teams practice once per week. 6U is clinic based and will meet once during the week and possible scrimmages on Saturdays
Travel teams are expected to have one additional practice per week.
Games
Recreational teams will have one game per week, likely on Saturdays. Games will be against recreational teams from local towns (some travel required).
Travel teams are expected to have at least one additional game each week.
Uniforms
NF Softball will provide each player with a uniform shirt and a pair of socks.
Parents need to provide a pair of solid black softball pants.
Players must be in full uniform for each game (Black softball pants, team shirt, team socks, cleats)
Instructional Pitching
Opportunities will be available for instructional pitching from professional coaches for ages 10U and up.
Equipment
Each player will need the following:
- Softball Glove
- Cleats - plastic/molded, no metal
- Helmet with cage
- Fielder's Mask
- Bat
- Batting gloves (optional)
Social Media
2024 Spring Recreation
Softball recreation season will run from April to June and include travel to surrounding towns. 8U-12U Teams will have one practice a week and a game on Saturdays. 6U will have one clinic during the week and some games on Saturdays.
2024 Spring/Summer Travel
Participation on a Travel will be in addition to the Recreation program. It is expected there will be one additional practice a week and at least one additional game on the weekends. An additional fee ($200+) will cover entry into additional leagues, tournaments, uniforms, umpires, and access to coaching. This fee will not be payable until travel teams have been confirmed. Registrations are being taken for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups.
